Don’t look back in anger: Despite the crises, private households in thenine Eurozone countries we analyze¹ have managed to almost doubletheir total financial assets over the last two decades. However, thecomposition of growth differs significantly between countries. The ratherrisk-averse German savers, for example, increased their financial wealthalmost exclusively through high savings efforts, while in Finland and theNetherlands, the lion’s share of the increase in wealth was attributa
